DOR VIEW
As we go into the second block of games, we know we must start turning pressure into points.
After a disappointing performance against Sheffield, we ramped up intensity in training.
This in turn led to a far better first half performance at Bridgnorth. But again, poor discipline and inaccuracy let us down in the final third. Refereeing decisions went against us and we came away disappointed in the result.
A week off has given players a chance to rest bodies and refresh. Coaches have reviewed game footage and discussed areas we need to improve. Tactical and positional changes will be made to hopefully address the areas of concern.
A look at the league table and we could say we have played some of the stronger sides now. But a look at results confirms there are no easy weeks. Any given week anybody can beat anybody. There is still a lot of rugby to be played this season and I believe that by Christmas the table will make for different viewing.
We will continue to put the work in on the training paddock and I am confident we can achieve our goals for the season. This week’s opponents have a similar playing record to us but a look at their results show that they have lost fixtures by very slim margins. We’re expecting a physical encounter and look forward to it.
