Although the last two weeks results are disappointing, we can still take positives from both fixtures.
As I said in previous review we need to learn and adapt to this level and do it quickly.
Our two opponents Sandbach and Scunthorpe will be aiming to be involved in the top of the table battle come the end of the season. Both fixtures gave us plenty of areas to work on from a coaching point of view. We created scoring opportunities in both games but still need to be more clinical in finishing these chances off.
Refereeing decisions were a major factor in both results especially the two yellows which saw us down to thirteen men against Sandbach. It would be easy to criticise the Ref but again we need to learn and adapt to what they are looking for and paint the right picture. If we can do this, then I’m sure more decisions will go our way.
I can assure you the squad and their coaches will be working hard this week to address these areas.
This week’s opponents Sheffield have started well, and we will be expecting another tough encounter.
Early forecasts show it could be a damp one and although the pitches need softening, we hope the weather doesn’t affect the game too much.
