Droitwich RFC

34 - 60

(HT 24-26)

Dudley Kingswinford RFC

Summary from DoR Neil Shillingford

The result was good, but the performance wasn't really what we were looking for.

We created some really good chances in the first half but every time we scored, we seemed to make a mistake to let them back in. We were just too lax in certain areas of defence, which couldn't have been any more different from how we did against Bromsgrove.

We had a few words at half time, put a few things right and did better after that. Afterwards we said the result might look good and we're back to scoring points but we'll need to tidy the performance up.

That's no disrespect to Droitwich but we're going to have to be much better in the coming weeks. We have spent so much time last week on our attacking patterns that you sometimes end up forgetting those in defence.

We need to stop thinking that one good performance means we've cracked it. We still need to work at things. The challenge now is to merge our last two performances. Against Bromsgrove we defended really well and against Droitwich we scored points and created chances. We need to put those two together against Worcester.

They are a tough side and the games against them tend to be very stop-start. They like to play set-piece to set-piece and we'll need to make sure we're ready for that.
