Sunday saw the local derby clash of the DK Vixens against the Stourbridge Panthers down at Heathbrook this weekend.
In the exciting windy conditions, the Vixens came out the gates with an aggressive and passionate game plan. An early first try from Abby Smitheman put the Panthers off balance and on the back foot fighting to get into the game. The Vixens showed grit and determination and got another 2 solid team trys on the board. The Panthers kept fighting and edged back to see the score 15-17 to Stourbridge at half time.
The second half brought a lot of big hits from both sides. The Vixens dug in deep to hold back the Stourbridge advance. But with the wind on their side the Panthers strong forward runners broke through to sneak a couple of lucky tries through to take the win.
