This is the first ever draft of a DK Match Day programme online. Welcome to the 21st century!

It is new, different and please remember it is still work in progress. The idea is that you will be able to access the match day programme on a Friday before the match, but don’t worry, the hard copy will still be available on the day.

The design keeps changing, we are on to version 7 or 8 so far and I am sure, will continue to change until we get something we are happy with. The current design has been developed this way so that it will work on a mobile phone. Do you have a QR code reader? They are free to download from your app store, just open it and hold your phones camera in front of the code and it will open the online programme.

For league tables, results and fixtures we have links that will take you to the pages which are populated by the RFU, this way all the information is up to date.

There are also other links to various pages on the website that might be of interest to you.

We are also developing an archive page where all the past programmes will be available.

We would welcome your feedback! Please talk to Gordon Bannatyne or Brian Platts.

A very warm welcome to all players, coaches, supporters and visitors to Dudley Kingswinford RFC.

Throughout the closed season our hardworking committee – under the leadership of chairman Jon Knowles has continued plans to develop & improve the facilities and infrastructure of the club. This summer has seen a much-needed revamp and improvement to the bar and surrounding areas. This redevelopment is part of the club’s continual plan of improvement which is intended - with sound and prudent management to underpin and develop vital revenue steam’s over the coming years.

Last season was the most exciting the club has enjoyed for some years with the 1st team narrowly missing out on promotion, losing a thrilling play-off final game against Syston RFC. Understandably this new campaign is keenly anticipated by all. Director of Rugby Neil Shillingford together with coaches’ Adam Blackford & Tommy Huggins have spent the summer quietly developing & honing the squad. In the main the playing personnel remain unchanged but competition for places will be tough, as younger players who have been developed from within the clubs burgeoning Youth section & successful Colts, challenge for places.

This season sees us playing in a much-changed league which brings new challenges. Despite last season’s successes, competition is so much more demanding as each game brings different challenges. We look forward to meeting with old friends from Hereford, Stoke, Sutton Coldfield, Worcester Wanderers & Moseley Oak. In addition, we have the ‘spice’ of local derby games against our near neighbours Stourbridge Lions & Bromsgrove together with Droitwich in a league game – for the first time. We anticipate renewing hostilities against ‘old adversaries’ Whitchurch, Malvern, Longton & Old Halesonians, in particular. We also look forward to meeting new challenges as we welcome Newbold to Heathbrook to play us at 1st XV level for the first time in many years. Added to this, for the first time we have the exciting prospect of floodlit mid-week evening games using our new floodlights to play selected 1st team fixtures during the season. It is hoped that this added flexibility will appeal to a greater more varied audience. One thing is certain there will be no easy games.

These are exiting times & a new season of challenging competitive rugby is eagerly awaited. As ever we promise all visitors a warm, friendly welcome & we look forward to a season full of hard-fought rugby played within the true spirit of the game.

We are proud of our reputation for pre-match lunches & post-match hospitality - all are welcome. Above all enjoy your visit to DK.
